A story should have a good opening, I am happy with this one for my latest action/adventure tale.
“The docks were forlorn in the cold waters under the murky sky. The water was dark without the speckles of light bouncing on the wavelets of a sunny day. The water relentlessly slapping and teasing this old maid of the sea stirred detritus, wafting a mix of creosote with a salty tang into the surroundings. Cargo crates stacked in rows on the stained concrete creating a maze between the 10,000-ton weather-beaten hull and the dockside warehouses. ”
