WHAT IF? THE CIVIL WAR AND TIME TRAVEL COLLIDE IN NEWEST PRO SE THRILLER-THE DEVIL TO PAY: TIME GUARDS VOLUME ONE NOW AVAILABLE!
Alternative history and Science Fiction come together in Pro Se Productions’ newest novel-THE DEVIL TO PAY: TIME GUARDS VOLUME ONE by Aubrey Stephens and Dale Kesterson, now available in print and digital formats.
Engineering professor and living historian John Andrews convinced his longtime friend, emergency physician Cathy Howell, to take on the task of running the first aid unit of a Civil War re-enactment at Gettysburg. Andrews believed it would be a fun trip and provide a break from academia they both needed, with the bonus of appearing in a documentary being filmed. Everything went according to plan, until they went to sleep Saturday, June 27 in the midst of the re-enactment’s tent city.
Awakening Sunday, June 28th, they found their tent was the only one in a clearing. Within minutes, John and Cathy discover they are now in 1863, just days before the actual battle. The idea of meeting participants in the historic events thrilled them both, but it was coupled with the realization that they, even with a single word or step might change the events of a pivotal battle in U.S. history. Unaware of how or who moved them through time, John and Cathy are marooned in the past, left with no instructions, no guide as to what they should or should not do. Do they help one side or the other? Do they try to avoid the entire battle? but most of all how the hell do they get home?
