PRO SE PRODUCTIONS PROMOTING ‘PRO SE OPEN’ ANTHOLOGY CALLS-FIFTEEN TO FILL, FIFTEEN NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS COMING SOON!
Pro Se Productions, a cutting edge publishing company focused on Genre Fiction and New Pulp, is known for its innovative anthologies, both original and featuring established characters. Known as The Pro Se Open, the publisher’s list of anthologies still needing stories can be found at the Pro Se website. Currently, Fifteen anthologies currently still need stories to complete the collections or these calls are at risk of being closed and not published.
“Anthologies are like a prism,” says Tommy Hancock, Editor in Chief of Pro Se Productions, “because they usually center on one character or theme and contain stories by different voices, letting that theme or character be seen through the eyes of multiple authors. We feel like anthologies are necessary for a small press publisher like Pro Se, not only because of the variety they give us, but also because of the collection of writers they often bring together. From brand new creators to established, well known, even bestselling authors, Pro Se’s anthologies have an extremely wide appeal and have made this company a place where people can write what they like to write.”
“We have fifteen,” continues Hancock, “that have open calls right now. Some of them need one story to close, others need three, and so on. We’re hoping to wrap these existing calls up pretty quickly as we are about to release another fifteen NEW open calls, to keep our traditional number of 30 open submission calls going at one time. In the future, as one anthology fills up, we’ll replace it with another call of some sort, insuring creativity and imagination never stop at Pro Se.”
The following submission calls are currently open for anthologies to be published by Pro Se Productions. A title and brief description will be listed, but the complete call for each anthology can be seen on Writers Wanted Page. Once the needed number of proposals have been accepted (NOTE-proposals, not completed works) for an anthology, it is closed. If these anthologies are not filled by April 1, then they will likely be removed from the Pro Se Open and not published. Any stories and accompanying rights submitted for an anthology that does not make will be returned to their authors.
